Tesla Model 3 Charging in UAE: GCC vs US Import

Market version comes first. UAE and GCC Tesla Model 3 vehicles use the Type 2 and CCS2 charging ecosystem documented by Tesla UAE. A US-imported Model 3 uses NACS and needs separate equipment or a verified adapter path.

Charging hardware by market

VersionACDCReviewed AC reference
UAE/GCCType 2CCS2Up to 7.4 kW single-phase or 11 kW three-phase
US RWD referenceNACSNACSAbout 7.7 kW at 32 A
US 48 A service referenceNACSNACSAbout 11.5 kW; trim and year dependent

Check the VIN, model year and vehicle charging screen. Do not apply a Long Range service value to every imported Model 3.

7, 11 or 22 kW?

For the reviewed EMEA guidance, 7.4 kW is the single-phase ceiling and 11 kW is the three-phase ceiling. A compatible 22 kW wallbox can be used where appropriate, but the Model 3 still draws only its onboard limit.

US-import adapter check

Verify whether the use is AC or DC, the direction of conversion, the exact vehicle support and the adapter instructions. Connector shape alone is not enough.

Site data required

  • Vehicle market, year and open-port photo.
  • Main supply, phase and available load.
  • Cable route, distance and civil work.
  • Final protection, isolation and testing plan.

Record these items in the MEV installation planner.
