First identify which S07 you own. Al Tayer Motors lists the DEEPAL S07 in the UAE as both a battery-electric vehicle (BEV) and a range-extended electric vehicle (REEV). They share a model name but do not share the same energy system, daily charging calculation or interpretation of range.
Official UAE facts: keep BEV and REEV separate
| Version | Official UAE information reviewed | What it means for planning |
|---|---|---|
| S07 BEV | 79.97 kWh battery, up to 475 km WLTP, and a published 30–80% DC reference of 35 minutes | Home energy comes from the traction battery; DC time is not an AC home time. |
| S07 REEV | A range-extender version with an official combined-range claim up to 950 km | Combined range includes the range-extender system and must not be presented as battery-only range. |
| European S07 BEV | The official European specification lists up to 11 kW AC | Supporting evidence for that European version, not proof for every UAE or imported S07. |
The distinction changes the customer conversation. A BEV owner may size charging around all regular driving energy. A REEV owner may target electric daily commuting while retaining the range extender. Neither case allows a foreign-market AC limit to be copied without checking the car.
How to identify the exact S07
- Confirm BEV or REEV in the registration/specification and vehicle screen.
- Record the trim, model year, VIN and market label.
- Photograph the complete charging inlet.
- Check the owner's documentation for onboard AC power and phase support.
- Record any supplied portable cable or wallbox rating, but do not mistake accessory rating for the car's limit.
Do not turn the 35-minute DC figure into a home promise
The official UAE BEV page gives a 30–80% DC charging reference of 35 minutes. DC fast charging supplies the battery through external high-power conversion. At home, AC passes through the vehicle's onboard charger, so power is normally much lower. Conditions, charger capability, battery temperature and state of charge can also change DC results.
For an approximate BEV home session, multiply the verified usable battery by the percentage to restore, then divide by average accepted AC power and allow for losses. For a REEV, use its verified battery capacity and actual electric usage—not the combined 950 km claim.
7 kW or 11 kW for S07?
A 7 kW-class wallbox can be a practical overnight solution where the property is single-phase, the car's verified limit is near that class or daily energy is modest. An 11 kW wallbox can be attractive when the exact S07 supports three-phase AC and the property has spare three-phase capacity. The European 11 kW listing is a reason to check, not permission to assume.
A 22 kW wallbox requires an even stronger case. If the vehicle accepts only 11 kW or less, the larger wallbox does not reduce its charging time. Compare the options in the power guide.
Connector and import-version risk
Confirm the physical inlet and charging communication on the car itself. A similar S07 from China, Europe or another market may not match the regional vehicle. An adapter decision must identify direction, AC/DC use, voltage/current, locking, thermal protection and exact vehicle compatibility. Avoid building a permanent installation around an unverified adapter chain.
Site survey
Record the main board, supply phase, spare electrical load, earthing, route length, outdoor exposure and any interlock or trench work. Select cable, breaker, residual-current protection and isolation from the circuit design and wallbox instructions. The battery size determines energy; it does not directly select a cable cross-section.
Handover record for BEV or REEV
- State the exact vehicle version and evidenced AC limit.
- Record wallbox model, circuit, cable route and protection.
- Capture actual accepted kW and current per phase.
- Test scheduled charging and app/RFID access.
- Explain how to distinguish a vehicle-side schedule from a wallbox-side schedule.
Build the correct S07 quotation
Start the MEV installation planner and choose the exact vehicle version. Upload the inlet, specification screen, main panel and route so the report can separate confirmed facts, calculated estimates and details the technician must still verify.
